Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas

Well what can I say abou this book that has not already been said before. You either love it or you hate it. Hunter S Thompson was a very unique character whom either turns you on or turns you off. His book Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas was first published in November 1971 issued of Rolling Stone. This book was an immediate success and features Hunter S Thompson and his attorney, travelling to Las Vegas, they get completely stoned, destroy hotel rooms, destory their car, pick up an very young hitchhiker (which is a hilarious scene) and infiltrate the District Attorney's Conference. This book will have you in fits of laugher and gives you a great insight into the author. His reality of the sixties or what he thought the sixties were all about, will have you crying tears of laughter, astonished and wanting more. The author brings you on a journey to the heart of the American Dream in a way that is totally unexpected with so many twists and turns that will leave you astonished. The book was made into a film which was released on 22nd May, 1998, and which was a tremendous success. Johnny Depp plays the notorious Hunter S Thompson and does so with such accuracy that you just know he spent time with the infamous Gonzo journalist. The film was directed by Terry Gilliam, need I say more? On release of the film FLLV the media quote was "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas", the movie - Las Vegas viewed at 100mph from a medicine cabinet". That sums up the entire book and Hunter S.Thompson for me. His work will go down in history as will his name continue even after his untimely death. Excellent book that will have you in fits of laughter.
